Ok, so as an offering of apology for neglecting my pick o the week duties... again, I am bringing to you TWO etsy picks. Also because I will be out of town this Sunday and most likely unable to post a new pick, as it is my anniversary!!!!
These picks are special because they both kept showing themselves to me. One of them popped up in several searches I did and I finally realized, ok something must want me to spotlight this site! Then I immediately found another I liked by someone with the exact same name, a quite unique name. When I did further research to find out if they were the same person, I found out that they are not, but one lives in San Luis Obispo, the other in Seattle- both stops on Donavon's current West Coast tour! So, I figure this is fate, and so I bring you the two Kelly Rae's!
The first shop, Lean Dog Pottery & Lean Dog Jewelry, is run by Kelly Rae Feaster. She offers mostly jewelry, but also some rad miscellany, like coasters, candle burners/ bird feeders, and pottery. My favorite piece of hers is the Autumn Rosetta pendant. I think it is beautiful. I also like Kelly Rae because she, like me, took several years to find her place in art, and has dedicated her shop via its name to her biggest influence. Check out her shop for some gorgeous work and great deals!

The second featured shop this week belongs to Kelly Rae Roberts, who does mixed media pieces, which is pretty much my favorite media. I love her work because it's not only beautiful but powerful. Each print truly tells a story. After checking out her website, I found that she also wrote a book about following your creativity called, Taking Flight: Inspiration and Techniques to Give Your Creativity Wings, which I cannot wait to check out. My favorite piece of hers is "Let It Go 2", which is appropriate since that is the title of a Donavon song as well:) Please take a look at her shop; it is emotionally moving.

I'm back!
Hi all!
I apologize for my lengthy absence, but following my last post, I have been doing somewhat of an internet cleansing ritual the past couple weeks. It's actually proved quite telling. Other than the maddening effects of facebook, I'm not sure exactly what brought it on, but I have learned a lot about myself as an artist in the last week, more in the last few days- even the last few hours.
It's all starting to make sense to me why I am so shy and have never liked crowds, even small ones. And, possibly why I was assigned the soulmate that I was. I'm finding that I need some sense of solitude in order to tune into my creative muses. And so, I have been on a mission to dismiss some of the noise that has been clouding my brain these days. Part of that is online availability. So I have deleted all personal pages, and am left with only dewindesigns pages- myspace, facebook, and flickr, as well as this blog.
From now on, my personal life will stay where it belongs- at home, with the hopes that my professional life as an artist will flourish!
